<p>The homeowners expanded their patio by adding stunning features including a waterfall, gas fire pit, hot tub and bartop seating. Everything comes together as the perfect spot to gather with family and friends.</p>

<p>A stunning faux rug was made using Mattoni sable pavers in a herringbone pattern set in the middle of the patio. Beacon Hill pavers span the patio while a combination of basalt and burnt clay Copthorne pavers outline the edge. Natural stone was placed around the house and at exit points leading to different parts of the yard.</p>

<p>With potted plants and natural gardens surrounding the new landscape, the client will have beautiful pops of color throughout the seasons.</p>

<p><strong>Built-in grill.</strong> Created with stones, this built-in bar also features underlighting and bar seating for dinner parties that last even after the sun goes down.</p>

<h6>A strategically designed landscape for everyone</h6>
<p>Outdoor living and dining intermix to create this one-of-a-kind patio. Various pavers were used to create the patio, as well as the stunning stone fireplace. A flowering magnolia, cherry trees and other plant varieties were strategically placed to create privacy, while sod was laid around the patio for a children play area.</p>
<h6>Contemporary style throughout</h6>
<p>Large stone pavers were used to create intricate designs, and a contemporary look. A large format paver with a smooth surface and subtle rolled edges were laid in a running bond formation. Basalt Townhall pavers with cobblestone textures were used to create defined spaces between different areas of the patio.</p>
<h6>Gather around the fireplace</h6>
<p>The focal point of this landscape is the stunning 15 ft. tall stone-crafted, gas fireplace. Built-in seating makes it easy to cozy up by the fire on chilly nights.</p>

<p><strong>Landscape lighting.</strong> Lighting was added to steps for safety and added as ambiance during nighttime TV viewing.</p>

<h6>Make the focal point of your yard a stunning water feature</h6>
<p>The homeowners desired a pool and waterfall that looked natural and blended well into their private wooded backyard. Upon entering, the 38-foot custom waterfall quickly draws your eye, spilling down to the fibreglass pool. A roughly 5,000-gallon custom reservoir was built and buried 12 feet underground into the hillside to make it appear that the waterfall flowed directly into the pool.</p>
<h6>Incredible stonework throughout the property</h6>
<p>Black Hills rustic flagstone span the entire walkway entrance. Running alongside the waterfall, large boulders were squared off and used as steps that provide safe and stylish access down to the pool deck. Surrounding the pool is a 1,130 square foot pool deck that was constructed using a combination of Bavarian Bristol Valley and brown Holland Premier pavers.</p>
<h6>Soften the hardscape design</h6>
<p>Various evergreens and flowering plants were added to soften the hardscape design. Evergreens, including baby gem buxus, white pine, spruce, and three cypress trees, were spread throughout the beds. Strategically placed flowers of purple and blue, accented by blooms of bright yellow, red and pink, add vibrancy to this sprawling garden.</p>

<p><strong>Intricate paver details throughout the property.</strong> A 1,130 square foot pool deck constructed using a combination of Bavarian Bristol Valley and brown Holland Premier pavers. Black Hills rustic flagstone span the entire walkway entrance and provide a stark contrast to the blacktop driveway.</p>
<p><strong>A magnificent waterfall feature.</strong> A custom-designed waterfall with an illusion twist. To make it appear that the waterfall flowed directly into the pool, a custom reservoir was built and buried underground into the hillside.</p>
<p><strong>Safety features.</strong> Split rail fencing was installed along the perimeter to contain the homeowner dog and for required safety reasons.</p>

<h6>Seamless multi-level patios make great use of space</h6>
<p>The entrance from the upper deck to lower patio was once blocked, now it has become a second level seating area. Composite decking leads from interior space to an outdoor dining area for ease and convenience. And on the lowest level, natural stone steps lead to a large grass area for kids and pets to play.</p>
<h6>Upgrades to the front entrance create a great first impression</h6>
<p>The front entrance got a complete makeover. Overgrown hedges were replaced with plants that vary in color, texture and height. Arriving at the front entrance is now an adventure, full of inviting fragrances and bursts of vibrant color.</p>
<h6>Big issues were fixed to ensure a landscape that will last</h6>
<p>Drainage issues were damaging the home foundation, which prompted a complete renovation of the lower patio with a corrected pitch and additional channel drains. The patio is recessed to a sloping hillside that wraps around the southside of the home, with softscaping to soften edges and create intimate, private spaces that obstruct the view of the neighbors.</p>
<h6>Every detail matters</h6>
<p><strong>Gardens galore.</strong> For the homeowner culinary needs, we added a two-tiered vegetable and herb garden.</p>
<p><strong>Landscape lighting.</strong> Lighting was added to spotlight foliage and texture, while path lighting and step lights provide safety.</p>
<p><strong>Composite deck.</strong> A strong and durable composite deck was built for the homeowners to step out of their home and relax with stunning views.</p>

<p>An abundance of plants fill up space around the staircase and patio to create a private haven for these homeowners. With a wide range of tall greenery, pops of color and hearty annuals this backyard hideaway is a gardener dream.</p>
<h6>Gather around a stunning outdoor fireplace</h6>
<p>The focal point of this design is the custom-made fireplace and built-in seating bench both of which were constructed onsite using white limestone specially ordered from Texas. The stark white provides dramatic contrast to the patio and pergola. The 42-inch firebox allows homeowners to easily keep the space comfortable on chilly evenings.</p>
<h6>A stunning grand staircase leads the way</h6>
<p>Working with the natural sharp 7-foot drop in the backyard we designed an elegant 30-foot-long natural stone staircase that meanders down to the lower level patio. Large intermediate landings soften the impact of the otherwise steep, rigid staircase and stone cut treads on the steps provide safety after dark.</p>
<h6>Explore the fine details</h6>
<p><strong>Retaining walls.</strong> To hold up the hillside, retaining walls were built into the staircase, adding dramatic effect to the landscape architecture.</p>
<p><strong>A plethora of plants.</strong> Varieties including phlox, thyme, sedum, astilbe, echinacea, hydrangeas, and scotch moss were added to surround the patio and create privacy.</p>
<p><strong>Designed for safety.</strong> More than 40 different accent and decorative spotlights were installed to improve safety and security around this magnificent home.</p>

<p>The homeowners wanted to have an open-air concept with retractable glass walls that flowed out into the pool area. We needed to bring in 10,000 tons of fill dirt to level 5 acres, intricate drainage, and an 8 ft retaining wall.</p>

<p>At the rear of the home, walls of windows open to sweeping panoramic views of gorgeous Indian coast natural stone tile surrounding a 20 by 65 foot inground pool. Snuggle down into the 2.5 foot sunken natural stone boulder circle surrounding an 8 foot tripod fire pit cauldron.</p>

<p>Designed with a level of perfection rarely seen, the front entrance showcases a 90-foot-long by 15-foot-deep natural stone egress window well, offering natural light to the gaming room in the lower level of the home.</p>
